The Natural Wonders of Lagoon Valley
Awarded Nature-Based Community of the Year by the U.S. Green Building Council
As the Bay Area’s first Conservation Community, every aspect of life in this serene valley has been thoughtfully designed to embrace the beauty of the surrounding landscape. Led by principles of technological ingenuity, placemaking, and green building, the Lagoon Valley masterplan incorporates open space corridors to protect natural migration paths and support the habitat development of native species.
Lagoon Valley Wetland Park
Our new 70-acre wetland preserve is a true success story, earning the designation of “Certified Wildlife Habitat” from the National Wildlife Federation. Home to a variety of native species, including the dragonflies, black-necked stilts, common yellowthroat and say’s phoebe pictured here, this restored space demonstrates Lagoon Valley’s commitment to interdependence with the natural world.
